Job description

For this role, we’re searching for someone who demonstrates leadership, with strong analytical skills and business acumen. Reporting to senior managers, they will work closely with their team and colleagues from other departments to achieve the company’s financial targets, while safeguarding the agency’s financial integrity and promoting sound management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial data to senior managers
  • In collaboration with the account managers, ensure the sound financial management of projects (billing deadlines, order books, project performance, etc.)
  • Ensure the agency’s budgeting and forecasting processes are properly managed
  • Recommend and establish key performance indicators and ensure they are monitored
  • Propose action plans to ensure annual financial targets are reached
  • Develop financial and technological policies and ensure they are followed
  • Ensure internal financial and technological controls are respected
  • Ensure the agency complies with government laws and regulations; be responsible for government auditing
  • Be responsible for year-end filing with the accounting firm
  • Efficiently manage the working capital and cash flow
  • Take charge of the financing files
  • Manage and supervise accounting operations, including the payroll process
  • Produce various ad hoc reports and take part in special projects when required
  • Hire, train and build loyalty with qualified accounting staff
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with the agency’s business partners

Skills and
abilities

  • Possess leadership skills, with strong business acumen and initiative
  • Be a strategic thinker who’s focused on finding solutions and fostering continuous improvement
  • Be highly meticulous with critical thinking skills
  • Possess computer skills and be interested in technological tools
  • Demonstrate integrity and openness, and promote good governance practices
  • Master the MS Office suite, especially Excel
  • Master the month-end process and full accounting cycle
  • Have experience managing a team
  • Have a management style based on team spirit and synergy between departments

Education and
experience

  • Hold a professional accounting designation (CPA)
  • Possess three years of experience in equivalent tasks and responsibilities
  • Master the MS Office suite, especially Excel
  • Be comfortable with the usual computer tools and accounting software
  • Have experience in project-based accounting
  • Have accounting experience at an SME providing professional services (an asset)
  • Have experience in the IT field (an asset)
  • Be bilingual (English and French)
